In this video today, I'm sharing a recipe to cook Poi Leaves (Basella Alba) Fritters. This plant leaves and stems are full of nutrients and healthy benefits. This is much consumed plant leaves in India specially in rural areas. It has more great benefits than Spinach and taste really good. This plant is mostly used to cook fritters in India and many likes to cook vegetables with other vegetables. So, let's start cooking Poi Leaves' (Basella Alba) Fritters with Onions ...

Ingredients:

- 250 gm Poi Leaves / Basella Alba (पोई पत्तियां)
- 2 nos Onions (प्याज)
- 2-3 nos Green Chillies (हरी मिर्च)
- 1/2 cup Gram Flour (बेसन)
- 1 tbsp Garlic Ginger Paste (लहसुन अदरक का पेस्ट)
- 1/4 tsp Red Chilli Powder (लाल मिर्च पाउडर)
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder (हल्दी पाउडर)
- 1 tsp Coriander Powder (धनिया पाउडर)
- 1 tsp Garam Masala (गरम मसाला)
- 1 tsp Salt or to taste (नमक या स्वाद के लिए)

Method:

- I'm using 250 gm of Poi Leaves aka Basella Alba
- Pluck all the leaves of Basella Alba
- Stems can be used to cook veg after cleaning shell fibers
- After plucking wash the leaves
- Chop in small pieces
- Put in a mixing bowl
- Add 2 nos of Sliced Onions,
- 2-3 nos of Chopped Green Chillies,
- 1/2 cup of Gram Flour,
- 1 tbsp of Garlic Ginger Paste,
- 1/4 tsp of Red Chilli Powder,
- 1/2 tsp of Turmeric Powder,
- 1 tsp of Coriander Powder,
- 1 tsp of Garam Masala,
- And Salt to taste
- Mix all the ingredients throughly by crushing everything
- Add some water (2-3 tbsp) if it feels dry while mixing
- Then we will deep fry
- Take a frying pan filled with cooking oil to deep fry
- Keep the flame medium
- Once oil is heated, add the mixture in oil little-by-little
- Make as many as can be made from mixture
- Flip all the fritters once fried well from bottom side
- Make sure it gets crispier then take out on tissue paper towel
- Similarly fry the rest
- Serve and enjoy it with Ketchup, Mint/Coriander sauces or Curd
- Sprinkle some Chaat Masala or Lemon juice for more piquant taste
